WELLBEING WEDNESDAYS during Lockdown spring 2021
Research suggests that there are five steps we can all take to improve our mental health and wellbeing. At Oughton Primary and Nursery School we have been promoting these with children, parents and staff for the last couple of years:
Trying out a variety of things in all of these areas can help us feel more positive and able to get the most out of life; this is particularly important at this time of uncertainty with lockdowns and restrictions. For further details follow the link: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/stress-anxiety-depression/improve-mental-wellbeing/
With this in mind, we will be dedicating our Wednesday afternoons this term to ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’; a time to switch off all electrical devices and try out some fun challenges.

With this in mind, we will be dedicating our Wednesday afternoons this term to ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’; a time to switch off all electrical devices and try out some fun challenges.
The idea is simple: watch out for your bright green envelope delivered through your letterbox each week and have it ready with you for Wellbeing Wednesday assembly at 1pm each week. Mrs Clayton will let you know when to open the envelopes alongside your peers to find out what different challenges you have been set for the afternoon – so no peeking beforehand!
We look forward to seeing you all at the assembly before you switch off your device for the afternoon and have fun time completing the different activities with your family. Enjoy!

VIRUS THE VIPER SNAKE
As you will know from the Newsletter, Shea started a lockdown pebble snake in the local community. Unforunately some older people dismantled it. Shea agreed to recreate the snake in our school grounds and we invited people to add to it. The snake is called Virus the Viper Snake. Here are a couple of photos of the snake as it grows.
