Guinea Pigs head for Bedfordshire!

24/10/2014

Whilst you are enjoying your school holiday, Nibbles and Humphrey will be enjoying a peaceful time at Mrs Lewis' house! They have an enormous run in the garden and enjoy spending all day chewing the grass (Mr. Lewis likes them visiting, so he doesn't have to cut the grass!). In the morning, the boys have their crunchy muesli, then later on they have a meal of carrots, cucumber, cabbage, peppers, tomatoes and any other vegetables that are in Mrs. Lewis' fridge! The boys will return to school on Tuesday 4th November, just like you!

Have a great holiday
Mrs. Lewis

Welcome to our guinea pigs

Welcome to Humphrey and Nibbles! We ran a competition to name our new Oughton pets and had hundreds of entries. Finally, during a Monday assembly, the two names were pulled out of the bag.

To say the animals have been a big hit is an understatement. We have been thrilled with the numbers of children in KS2 coming to feed, hold and clean the cages out. Without their help, the animals would not be as happy as they obviously are.

Another HUGE thank you goes to Mrs. Banton, who has carefully constructed a pen so that the guinea pigs can’t escape, whilst being cuddled by the children. If you are concerned about the guinea pigs at weekends, please don’t fret. They are not left ‘home alone’ at school.

Got any spare vegetables, fruit or a bit of leftover salad from dinner last night?
Pop it into Mrs. Lewis’ classroom and the guinea pigs will be extremely grateful!
